BackgroundSince 2025, XINGXI has been supplying all-steel radial (TBR) mining tires to a transport fleet operating in the southern DRC (Lubumbashi region) and neighboring Zambia. The fleet handles copper mine haulage — metal mining sites with harsh road conditions, high ambient temperatures, and heavy tire consumption.
The Challenge
Vehicles run at 50–60 tons gross weight on soft ore terrain, around 20 km per haul cycle
High temperatures and abrasive surfaces accelerate wear and damage
A previous batch from one factory had shown sidewall bulges caused by irregular steel cord spacing during mass production — a problem that appeared before the vehicles even entered mine service
How XINGXI Responded
Recommended a mixed pattern setup: mining patterns on drive axles, rib/traction patterns on steer axles — matched to the soft-ore, heavy-load scenario
Supplied 1200R20 and 1100R20 mining tires in the quantities required for a growing fleet
Established batch traceability and pre-shipment inspection after the earlier quality incident, ensuring any irregularity is caught before dispatch
Worked with the factory on a fast claim process to protect the customer relationship and keep the project moving
The Result
Through 2025, the tires performed well overall in service
The fleet has continued procurement with XINGXI, confirming the reliability of the supply chain after the quality-control improvements
The earlier incident became the basis for a stricter inspection system that now benefits all mining fleet customers
